Cinema lovers have a date this week on Tunisia’s beaches to enjoy the festival Manarat.
Every night, from July the 2nd to the 6th,
free open-air screenings will take place on the beaches of Djerba, Monastir, La Marsa, Bizerte and many other seaside resorts.
A great festival of Mediterranean cinema
The Manarat festival, which holds this year its second edition, proposes a selection of movies from Tunisia, Spain, Turkey, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Lebanon and many other countries from both shores of the Mediterranean.
Headed by the famous Tunisian film producer Dorra Bouchoucha, the festival also includes theater screenings, roundtables, meetings with filmmakers and a competition to win the Manar d’Or.
Historically recognized as a country of cinema thanks to an international standard festival, the “Journées Cinématographiques de Carthage”, Tunisia now also has a promising summer festival.
